I am a Licensed Professional Counselor. I obtained a BA in Psychology from the University of Pennsylvania and an MA in Counseling from Montclair State University. I have also trained in integrative hypnosis and with Marisa Peer in Rapid Transformational Therapy®.
I favor an active approach to counseling, employing many cognitive-behavioral techniques as well as alternative, creative approaches including hypnosis. The content and tone of each session are tailored to each client's individual needs and goals.
The counseling process is a collaborative one. It requires respect, non-judgment and the building of trust. The more you put into your healing process, and the more open you are to the possibility of feeling better, the more success we will have working together. I encourage you to truly test out the things we explore in our sessions. I don't give advice. What I do is help you feel empowered to find your answers within yourself.
When we heal ourselves, we truly do heal the world!
I firmly believe that when we take the very best care of ourselves, those we interact with reap the benefit of our well-being, and then those people do the same for the others in their world. There's a positive ripple effect.
To clearly demonstrate this, since the start of 2020, I've chosen to donate a portion of each client's fee per session to several nonprofit organizations, each dedicated to lifting people up, empowering them and improving our world. The organizations currently chosen are nourish.NJ, Employment Horizons, Jersey Battered Women's Services, Mental Health America, and Together Rising.
This means that EACH time you dedicate resources to your OWN well-being by having a psychotherapy or integrative hypnotherapy session with me, at no additional cost to you, you are serving to uplift the community around you as well.
